ORLANDO BECOMES A GLOBAL SOCCER HUB AS WORLD CUP FEVER TAKES OVER THE CITY
Orlando is stepping into the international spotlight as soccer fans gather across the city for major matches, fan experiences and World Cup-related celebrations.
Orlando is becoming one of Florida’s most exciting destinations for soccer fans this summer. With international matches, public viewing events and special fan experiences, the city is positioning itself as a major hub for global soccer energy in 2026.
Inter&Co Stadium is hosting high-profile international soccer, including the England vs. Costa Rica friendly on June 10, part of England’s final preparations before the FIFA World Cup 2026. The match is bringing international attention to downtown Orlando and reinforcing the city’s growing reputation as a sports destination.
The excitement will continue beyond one match. The Orlando Soccer Celebration, presented by Verizon, is scheduled to run from June 11 through July 19 at The Pointe Orlando, offering live viewing experiences for all 104 FIFA World Cup matches.
The fan event is expected to include live music, entertainment, global food and beverage options, player appearances, club legends, mascot appearances and an official pop-up store.
For Orlando’s tourism economy, the soccer season represents another opportunity to attract visitors beyond the traditional theme park audience. Hotels, restaurants, bars and entertainment venues are expected to benefit from increased foot traffic during the tournament period.
City leaders and tourism officials have long promoted Orlando as more than a theme park destination. Major sporting events are now becoming an important part of that strategy, drawing international visitors and strengthening the city’s cultural and economic profile.
As the World Cup approaches, Orlando is proving that its appeal extends far beyond vacation travel. The city is also becoming a place where global sports, entertainment and tourism meet.
